Scholarship Program:

Each year, we provide between 6 and 8 scholarships to seniors who intend to enter the teaching profession. 

Join us with a purchase wreaths for National Wreaths Across America Day.

SAARTA actively participates in Wreaths Across America.  Our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by participating in wreath-laying ceremonies at Fort Sam.

The Texas Retired Teachers Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 dedicated to helping active and retired educators with their financial needs. TRTF offers three programs to assist educators, and we designate more than $25,000 per year towards public education. 

TRTF provides scholarships to new teachers, helping hands to retirees in need, disaster relief, classroom assistance grants, and Lehr-Pritchard Endowment Fund.

The Children’s Book Project is a service activity initiated by local chapters of TRTA. Its purpose is to put books into the hands of children who otherwise would not have them and to provide books to children who do not have their own books.

SAARTA volunteers contribute more than 45,000 hours per year to help people or organizations in the community.

We keep track of the number of hours that we volunteer annually.
